How can we remain indifferent to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia?

A complex geopolitical conflict that has been latent for years... But the result is always the same: civilians trapped and on the front lines... The horror of war, the madness of the powerful and the geopolitical strategies that push towards confrontation where many responsibilities are unfortunately hidden from us...

How, as an artist, can we continue to create "beauty" when atrocities are committed daily? To convey these horrors in a painting would be to relive them indefinitely...

So I close my eyes, and as if to ward off a spell, with my brushes I make shapes, movements and colors explode in an attempt to counter human atrocities...

At the top right is the Russian flag, and at the bottom left are the flags of Ukraine, NATO, the United States, and Europe.

"No pasaran" is a very well-known expression.

¡No pasarán!, meaning "They will not pass!" in Spanish, was uttered by supporters of the Second Spanish Republic fighting against the nationalist rebels commanded by General Franco. In the middle, a little girl appears, releasing a dove as a symbol of peace and obscuring the letter S, and the phrase becomes "No pararan," which in Spanish means "They will not stop."

This expression can be universalized to mean that, unfortunately, wars and global conflicts continue to occur and will not stop.
