Within the framework of the association Les Amis des Arts de Givors

"Threads of Memory" is a participatory regional project that aims to collect stories, memories, and textile-related gestures from local residents to bring forth a sensitive memory of the region.

Through sewing, embroidery, weaving, knotting, or assembling materials, the project examines the transmission of know-how, intergenerational ties, and the role of textiles as a medium for collective memory. The initial stages are dedicated to meeting residents, collecting testimonies, and experimenting with simple techniques involving thread, fabric, and traces.

Conceived as an evolving process, the project will lead to collective forms progressively built with the participants. It is part of a broader research effort concerning the links between memory, territory, the living, and contemporary textile practices.
