A desire to return to the essence of things and beings, the focus is centered on the woman in her nudity as a symbol of birth and rebirth in this very particular context... An impulse to protect oneself and perhaps become a fetus again, sheltered in the female uterus and cocoon where comfort and solace reign.
The woman's position also made me think of an odalisque but also of a Japanese print, much like the Asian silk fabrics into which the body is engulfed until it becomes one with its curves.
The mask is no longer seen as a barrier but as an aesthetic ornament that she wears over half of her face, like a geisha.
The frame is a white cardboard mat.
